Goodbye Dominion

"Your destiny lies upon a different path from mine" - Obi-Wan Kenobi

After much debate, I have decided the time has come for me to leave Dominion. I hereby announce my resignation from the guild effective immediately.

I guess you could say this is a natural consequence of my earlier decision to not run 25 man Raids with them, but as I began to evaluate the options and paths available to me, I saw that each and every one of them led to me being in a different guild.

What guild that ends up being is something that I'll have to work out in due time. I don't feel it's right for me to go out and start discussing a future with another guild while I still wear the Dominion tag.

Dominion is focused on the raid scene and I’m sure they will be knocking out Alliance side first kills left and right. It would be great to see them beat the top Horde guild, Cynosure, to a server first or two.

Again, I'd like to thank all the members and officers of Dominion. I truly appreciate all you did for me during my time with Dominion.

I’d also like to say a special thank you to Agamegnome for recommending to Dominion when their Paladin tank decided to leave the game. I've been places I never thought I'd be and seen things I never though I'd see.

It’s been a fantastic ride.

I'm still on the server so don't hesitate to drop me a tell or send me group invites.

Wow, Honors, you sure do switch guilds a lot. How many have you been in so far, or even during the BC era? I only say this because I'm sure a lot of people have noticed this.

Have you thought about putting down roots somewhere? I really think you're missing out on one of the key elements of this game, and the MMO genre in general.

Good luck in your hunt for the next guild.

You seems to be the sort of person who will end up either never getting into another guild, or transferring again...

It's a bad habit.

I've been in 4 guilds since tBC launched, though I tend to discount my time in Bloodsky because I was only in Bloodsky for a 1 week. It amounted to a failed trial.

I doubt very seriously I'll be the sort to never get another invite (especially seeing as I've had two invites already, lol).

I'd love to 'put down roots' and not change guilds again. That's a big part of the reason I'm taking some time right now to figure out what I want to do.

Been reading your blog for a while, its always been interesting. Curious why you're leaving your current guild.. is it due to loot drama or burn-out from raiding?

I raided together with my wife up to Illidan pre-nerf, but then we quit due to some drama and burnout from carrying lots of monkeys on our backs. Now we're planning to play more casually in WotLK and I've seen similar sentiments expressed on quite a few other ex-raider's blogs.

@pockie,

It was neither loot drama or burn out. It was a combination of scheduling issues along other issues that led to this decision.

I have take to a policy of "Praise Publicly, Criticize Privately" so I won't go into those 'other issues' here.

Clearly, a new policy! ;)

Good fortune in figuring out what you really want from WoW, and finding a guild to truly call home.
