Merry Christmas 2015

Whereever you are and whatever you celebrate, I hope you are surrounded by the people who love you most. Merry Christmas from the Hammer family.

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone has a very nice Easter. Remember this day the one who loved you, who chose you, and who came to rescue you by giving His life for you. - Honors

Merry CHRISTmas My Friends

"And there were in the same country sheperds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." As Linus finishes he turns, walks back to the wings and calmly asserts, " That's what Christmas is all about , Charlie Brown." Merry CHRISTmas!!!

Christmas Reading

Schools out and various industries are in the midst of Christmas shutdowns. You might find yourself with a little extra time on your hands this time of year. You also might find yourself lacking regular internet access, and be looking for some good reading material. This year my Christmas present to you is a book recommendation. The book I'm recommending you read over your Holiday break is call The Science of God: The Convergence of Scientific and Biblical Wisdom . Schroeder is a physicist and Bible scholar. His previous work was called Genesis and the Big Bang . In The Science of God , he compares the Genesis account of creation with current scientific knowledge about the origin of life. No doubt he is well versed in both the Bible and biology; he's also a skilled pedagogue, explaining abstract or counterintuitive concepts in lay terms. Some of his arguments (for instance, that the sequence of Genesis creation is congruent with evolution's progression from ...

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Lord, thank you for this sink of dirty dishes; we have plenty of food to eat. Thank you for this pile of dirty, stinky laundry; we have plenty of nice clothes to wear. And I would like to thank you, Lord, for those unmade beds; they were so warm and comfortable last night. I know that many have no bed. My thanks to you, Lord, for this bathroom, complete with all the splattered mirrors, soggy, grimy towels and dirty sink; they are so convenient. Thank you for this finger-smudged refrigerator that needs cleaning. It has served us faithfully for many years. It is full of cold drinks and enough leftovers for two or three meals. Thank you, Lord, for this oven that absolutely must be cleaned today; It has baked so many things over the years. The whole family is grateful for that tall grass that we all enjoy the yard. My kids are healthy and able to run and play. Lord, the presence of all these chores awaiting me says You have richly blessed my family. I shall d...

Thank You Veterans

I'm going to interrupt the Blog today, for this special message. To all the Veterans out there today, I want to say Thank you. I enjoy the frivolity of a video game while you put your life on the line to defend our country, and my freedom. So to all of you, past, and present, Thank You! Keep your heads down and come home safe. Every single last one of you, but especially a certain someone in NMCB 24, and another certain someone in the 315th Airlift Wing.

Happy 4th of July

In the United States, we celebrate our national 'birthday' this weekend. The Fourth of July. "Having undertaken for the Glory of God and the advancement of the Christian Faith" - The Mayflower Compact "This Nation was founded not by religionist , but by Christians; not on religion, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ" - Patrick Henry "We recognize no sovereign but God and no King but Jesus!" - John Adams and John Hancock "The Constitution , A system which without the finger of God never could have been suggested..." - Alexander Hamilton James Madison conceived the three branches of Government by inspiration of Isiah 33:22. "For the Lord is our Judge [Judicial] The Lord is our Lawgiver [Legislative] The Lord is our King [Executive] He will save us." Isiah 33:22 "God who gave us life gave us Liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their basis?" - Thomas Jefferson ...

Happy Easter

This post has nothing to do with Paladins or even WoW. Continue reading at your own risk. I wish everyone a very happy Easter. This holiday, even more so than Christmas, remember the true reason for the season. Hope. We've heard much talk about hope since January. "Where is the hope? I meet millions of people who feel demoralized by the decay around us. The hope that each of us has is not in who governs us, or what laws we pass, or what great things we do as a nation. Our hope is in the power of God working through the hearts of people. And that's where our hope is in this country. And that's where our hope is in life." - Charles Colson Discover the same hope that I have. The hope of a Saviour and a King who loves you and died for you and whose resurrection we celebrate this Easter day. He is Risen! He is Risen, indeed! We'll return to your regularly scheduled Paladin blogging on Monday.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone out there. I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve whether you celebrated it online or off. As for myself, I'm enjoying my Christmas to New Years vacation with my family. I've got limited Internet access on a hand me down Notepad computer. I'll be back online and blogging on January 5th! Happy New Year!! Honorshammer

Merry CHRISTmas

I was sitting here trying to think of what Christmas message I'd like to send out to my readership this year. The very fact I can talk about having a readership is still a very humbling thought to me, and I wanted to send out a message to let you know that I appreciate you making me a part of your day. I loved the Peanuts post I did last year, but I really can't repeat it. So here is my Christmas post for this year. For God So Loved YOU that He gave His one and only Son, that when you believe in Him, you shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 Have a very Merry and Safe Christmas!

Holiday Reading

Once again, I've been inspired by World of Matticus . Sydera was talking about how many of us find ourselves without time or access to World of Warcraft this time of year. You may be stuck on a long car trip or flight to Grandma's house. She went on to talk about some recommended reading to get you through your time away. As I was commenting on the topic, I felt like I should flesh it out and make it into my own topic. And seeing as I didn't really have a topic for today, this works rather well. First up on the Honorshammer Suggested Reading List is The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. The first two books in the series have recently been made into films. Narnia is a magical land filled with mythical creatures and talking animals. The first book in the series, The Lion, The Witch, and Wardrobe introduces four children that discover Narnia. These children are prophesied to end the evil times and the never ending winter that has fallen over the land. The adventures th...

Happy Thanksgiving

Today in the United States we celebrate Thanksgiving. I have so many things to be thankful for this year. My family, and my friends both online and out there in the 'real' world top that list. I am also thankful to be gainfully employed in a job I enjoy. I really have more blessings than I can count. I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving this year! Honorshammer

Veteran's Day

I just wanted to take a moment to say "Thank You" to the men and women of our armed forces on this Veteran's Day. Your sacrifice for our country is deeply appreciated. Happy Veteran's Day!!!

Labor Day Weekend 2008

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I'm still alive and well. I hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day weekend. My Labor Day I live in a beautiful little place called Charleston, SC. We spent our Labor Day enjoying the local beaches and got just a hair too much sun. Basically my skin matches my raid frame (read: pink). I'm rather uncomfortable, but doing fine. Let me bring you up to speed on my WoW activities over the holiday. Zul'Aman Saturday night started with a ZA run. Vlad (co-GM and 25 man raid leader) would really like to see some of our guys to get Bear Mounts before the ability to get them is removed in the Expansion. I was honored that I was picked for the team because I know she wants the best players she can get. We did pretty well for our first run. We ran 2 Shaman healers, and 2 tanks along with some of our best DPS. I was the lone Paladin in the run. We managed to get 3 timers. Just like my run with Heroes back in June, it was Dragonhawk's tr...
