It’s Tuesday Morning, Do You Know Where Your Main Is?

Just a quick post this morning. I was thinking about where to log my characters out and I started thinking that with the changes to Ogrimmar, Stormwind and the other capitals, I could log my guys out somewhere that would be inside a wall, or under water when the Shattering happens.
When you Faction transfer, your toon is placed in an inn of his home city. So when I changed from Dwarf to Blood Elf, when I logged in that first time as a Blood Elf I was in Silvermoon. What if that is the plan the Developers have for all our toons tomorrow. When we log in, my Orcs will be Ogrimmar while my Taurens will be Thunderbluff.
By the way, this is just speculation on my part, but I’m curious to see what they will do with toons that logged out in inaccessible locations in the new world.

Blue posts say that you will be ported to the nearest graveyard to where you log out.

I was wondering the same myself earlier. Here's what Tom Chilton (aka Kalgan) had to say about it in an interview. Full thing is posted on MMO-Champions front page.

That being said, where will players be when they log in? I know in beta it sent people to either the outside of Orgrimmar or the outside of Stormwind. Have you guys finalized where people are going to actually log in?
TC: Yeah they'll log in alive at the nearest graveyard of the zone they were at. So let's say they were in the middle of Arathi Highlands, they would be standing wherever the nearest graveyard is to where they were logged out at. So they're not like falling through the air to their deaths when they log in.

I seem to remember reading that all characters would be returned to where their hearthstone was set (the new inn for those that changed), which could be a little problematic for those that have their hearth set to Dalaran but don't have any connecting fly points as the portals are being removed

When the Shattering happened on the PTR, none of my characters moved to their home cities, though I can't be certain that they didn't move at all.

The smart way to handle this IMO would be to look at the char's subzone and then put them in a known safe spot there. So everyone in the drag in Org goes to the middle of the path, etc.

I think they announced recently that every character will be transported to the closest graveyard.

They stated that characters would be alive at the graveyard closest to the current location. That way they don't get stuck somewhere in a wall or falling 1000ft. from the sky.

We went to ZG to see it before it disappeared last night. I thought about logging out there, but didn't.
